Ken Verey, founder and director of AV Hire Adelaide, was brought up in rural Victoria. After leaving school, he embarked on an Electronics Diploma in Ballarat at BCAE and scored his first job with CEPL Security in Melbourne. This was where he learned to burn his fingers with a soldering iron. Despite this, the general manager of that company became Ken’s mentor and remains his friend and mentor to this day.
To Adelaide and computers
Personal circumstances brought him to Adelaide and after various jobs in the IT industry, Ken finally decided to embark on his own journey in 1992. Since then his business has changed with the times and technology. Today he sits at the helm of AV Hire Adelaide, one of South Australia’s most respected audio visual hire businesses. AV Hire Adelaide evolved from being a computer rental company, (Customised PC Hire) which evolved from being a computer sales and support company (Computers Et Cetera).
